The PacelabApproach
A Visionary Beginning
Steffan Jones's journey to founding PaceLab is a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation in fast bowling. His professional cricket career spanned two decades, during which he played for Somerset, Northamptonshire, Kent, and Derbyshire County Cricket Clubs. Even as a player, Steffan's fascination with sports science led him to integrate technology into his training regimen. In 2002, he gained attention as the "computerised cricketer" for using handheld devices to meticulously track his fitness metrics, aiming to enhance his bowling speed to 90 mph.
After retiring from professional cricket, Steffan's passion for understanding the biomechanics of fast bowling deepened. He pursued qualifications in sports science, strength and conditioning, and technical coaching, blending his firsthand experience with academic knowledge. This unique combination enabled him to develop innovative training methods, focusing on specific strength, biomechanical analysis, and personalized coaching. His approach garnered global recognition, leading him to serve as the High-Performance Fast Bowling Coach for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and to consult for fast bowlers, javelin throwers, and pitchers worldwide.
Driven by a desire to revolutionize fast bowling training, Steffan founded PaceLab. The platform integrates cutting-edge technology with personalized coaching, offering data-driven insights to help bowlers unlock their full potential. PaceLab's mission is clear: to educate and improve fast bowlers of all abilities and ages, ensuring they bowl faster, safer, and more consistently.
